So, this summer I had the thrush washers replaced in my differential in accordance with the now (mostly) accepted method of doing it while the differential is on the car. The Sports Car Factory agreed to do it in accordance with this video that I had sent them. Don’t get me wrong, the car drives awesome, but there is a small clunk there. I hear it more when the top is up.
Unfortunately, the new thrush washers did not eliminate the small play or clunk I have in the differential. When looking at the manual, it says the following. Any thoughts of what to do next since the last know British Leyland Dealer closed years ago and the local differential “experts” don’t want to touch it.

Hi Peter,
Club member Chris Billings has experience replacing the collapsible spacer which controls the pinion pre-load/ gear lash. You might want to get in touch with him.

Hi Mike, Thanks for that. I am hoping to pick up an old Differential and completely tear it apart and put it back as a learning exercise and practice run for mine. My diff is pretty and not rusted. I may contact him for some help and/or advice.
