Fascinating video, Peter, especially of the Heli-coil.
Here’s my problem. If the same thing were to happen when my local Vespa dealer was doing this same repair, would the local mechanic be able to fix it with a heli-coil. Would he even know about a hell-coil? This seems to me like really advanced mechanical knowledge is required.

Well the mechanic may tap the hole to a M7 size but then there would be one odd size bolt in 10 and if the next person working on it does not know that it could cause an issue if they tried to thread a M7 into a M6 hole. This is far less expensive since my Helicoil kit cost $ 42.00 CAD. But one would think that a good mechanical shop would have these kits already. It is also possible that the mechanic would not mention it and just leave the bolt in there but not torqued and let the next mechanic deal with it in 10,000 miles?
