Yes it is that time in our life where we have had to deal with renovations, landscaping and such and this almost always competes with the sun. No rain? Great time to ride or wait, doesn’t that deck need staining, garden to overhaul and the list just keeps getting bigger. This was the story around our home since the last few weeks and will continue to be for the next few weeks unless of course many of my readers miraculously show up and volunteer their time to help get everything done in a day.
But we did take a 4-hour break and enjoyed a wonder ride to Merrickville for a late lunch on Sunday afternoon. Merrickville is just one of those picturesque little towns with tiny shops and bistros and bars that always is a pleasure to visit. They also have a lock and it is always interesting and relaxing to watch those boats drop down 10-12 feet or climb up between the two water levels. The above p[picture was taken on our last visit to the locks. This year we did not have so much time so we parked the bikes and did a bit of shopping then had a nice lunch in a Bistro.
Needless to say we spent our Holiday Monday (Queen Victoria Day) working around the house :(.
