This year is the first year that my Mom will be without my Dad so our first Christmas Dinner will be in Cobourg, Ontario (near Toronto) and we plan to be there between December 26th to the 28th. Then we will be returning home and my wife works the rest of the week. So Christmas dinner is planned for Saturday January 3rd, 2015 at my wife’s parents in Pointe Claire, Quebec (near Montreal).
Now, on January 2nd in Toronto, Ontario is the largest motorcycle show in North America called the North America Motorcycle Super Show! Endras BMW Motorrad has a booth and there are many wonderful things to see and do there. I plan to visit my dealer as well as tour the show with my son, sister and brother-in-law. The mission is to find a suitable bike for my son to start riding. He is 26 years old.
Here is a peak at the logistics between January 2nd. and 3rd. Click on the map to enlarge.
Luckily for me there is a seat sale with Via and they also allow me to book a multiple city trip. Now to complicate things even more; my wife works on January 2nd and I have to book care givers to my dogs.
After many phone calls and arrangements I have booked a train to leave Ottawa at 8:30 AM January 2nd. to Toronto and then to return first thing in the morning to Dorval, Quebec where my wife will pick me up for her family’s Christmas dinner. I had originally booked an earlier train but had to cancel since it interfered with my wife’s work time. I booked someone to be with the dogs at home on January 2nd, 2014 while my wife works and she will take them with her on January 3rd. to Pointe Claire.
Of course a hotel down town is also required with dinner reservations somewhere nice to take out my son.
Balancing you may ask? I feel I’m an expert. In 24-hours I will have had two long train rides, two long car rides, seen North America’s Largest Motorcycle Show, have dinner with my son, party later that night where his girlfriend tends bar, ride a shuttle bus, eat a Christmas dinner in Montreal, and basically have visited three of the six largest cities in Canada.
What are the odds that I will sleep well when I finally get home late January 3rd, 2015 to Russell?
