Yes there are a few more entries this week than usual due to rainy weather and relaxing at Away in the Country.
Mike Fritz a fellow rider just got a new Suzuki V-Strom 650. He had a 1989 Yamaha Virago that was approaching 100,000 km. He decided a change was in order and wanted more than just a cruiser. He wanted off-road capability.
He has already put 1000 km on the bike in the first 4 days and I am certain that many of those kilometers were off road in the woods or making tracks through farmers fields.
Here is Mike’s take on his new bike.
Hi Peter, Chantal… Thanks for taking us along on your romantic getaway.
Peter, shame on you for not having a plugging kit and compressor 😉 If I had come along I would have had you plugged and on your way in no time.
So Chantal got soaked in Rev’it eh? Maybe it’s a good thing that I postponed by Rev’it pants purchase.

David. I think I jinxed myself the day before we left. We purchased a new Shoei helmet for Chantal and a new Scala 9x set because ours broke the day before. At the cash I saw a tire repair kit with air cartidges and plugs for $69.00 and I decided that since my bill was over $ 1,000.00 I better stop spending and thought that I had never ever had a flat. Neither in a car or bike.
Plus I thought Honda roadside assistance would come and fix such a problem. No such luck. Next time a Honda dealer tries to put assistance and dealer network on the table as a sales pitch, don’t take it too seriously as I had.
☑ Tire repair kit in saddle bag A MUST!
