map Sunday was sunny and warm and yet another perfect day for a ride. We decided to re-visit Merrickville and spend some time there. We had passed through on our previous trip to Gananoque and thought it deserved a future visit. So the future is here now.

Merrickville is one of those quaint little towns filled with tiny private antique stores and boutiques, restaurants and has something for everyone to enjoy. It is nestled alone side the Rideau Canal and has full boating (Yachts) access.

Yellow_Canoe_Cafe_Patio_2010 We ate at a wonderful little cafe called Yellow Canoe Cafe. They seem to be known for their soups, sandwiches and scones. We sampled their sweet potato curry soup and their special frittata. They served it with two pickles and what seemed like a specialty bread. It was excellent and we ate on the porch outside.

We also found an amazing train store and a record store. I will have to go back with my car to buy some records. I actually found a wonderful decoration of Santa riding a scooter.
