I am getting ready for the 2013 riding season. I have purchased all my gear except for a wind screen to replace the small fly screen. I found that last year the wind and cold took a toll on longer rides and wore me out. It was strenuous on my upper body in high winds, especially cross winds.
After posting questions on Modern Vespa and discussion with Vespa dealers, I have decided to buy the large Vespa windshield (yes I know it is ugly) and then cut it down to my size to be at the bridge of my nose.
I had found the instructions on how to do that at Modern Vespa.
Now here is the most amazing part…
When shopping for the Vespa Original Windscreen, I got prices in the US starting at $ 399.00 plus shipping and in Canada the prices are $ 379.00 (in both cases our HST Tax is not included but would apply).
So before purchasing, I went to Scooter Crazy’s website which is where I purchased the amazing Tucano Urbano Mesh Jacket and Gloves. They quoted me a price without their VAT of $ 226.00 US including delivery by TNT that is 7-10 days from the UK. That is almost half the price. When you visit their site and I am certain you will, keep in mind that their prices include the VAT which is quite high. They do not have to charge the VAT for orders shipped outside the UK. Scooter Crazy has also mastered the art of shipping and can do so at very attractive prices.

My Mesh jacket and gloves were shipped Monday and I received them at 2:00 PM Tuesday. Yes one day! The Jacket and gloves traveled via FedEx from the UK to Memphis USA to Ottawa Canada and finally on a truck to Cornwall.

The jacket I received with the gloves is of top quality, really handsome and as such that I could get off my scooter and walk right into a restaurant without any notice of wearing motorcycle gear. Seriously, take a look at these jackets by Tucano Urbano. My jacket has well placed Velcro openings on the back side to accommodate their airbag system.
Additionally, have a look at their leg warming system that uses the hot air from the radiator exhaust to keep the rider warm on those cold days.

Finally, for those looking for a really nice leather jacket at the right price, call Gemma and ask her about the Weise Thruxton for a price that can not be matched by Rolland Sands or Dainese. Unfortunately, it was not 
available until the end of March which is why I purchased a Dainese for far more coin.
