After having the ride alone through the Adirondacks, I decided that it was too good to pass down another ride but this time with Chantal. I reserved a room at the Gauthier’s Saranac Lake Inn and planned my routes using the Garmin Base Camp.

Come time to leave, the weather took a crazy turn to the opposite end of the temperature gauge. This forced us to dress warm and carry a bit more clothing than we would have liked.

Riding two up plus luggage proved no problem for the 21.19 horsepower engine in the GTV-300. She climber the hills, maintained a proper speed and never seemed to be sluggish. The suspension and tires were adjusted appropriately.

When we arrived in Saranac lake 2-hours after we left, it was cool. In fact, it WP_000716went to 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 C) over night. It was a bit too cold to enjoy the free canoes, paddleboats and other lake activities. We decided to shop down town, enjoy a romantic dinner and sit on our balcony to enjoy the breath-taking view of Saranac Lake. The sunset was amazing yet quick. It seemed as if you would miss it completely if you blinked. It was all I could do to get my phone out and get these pictures.

The next day we took the road to Plattsburg so Chantal could do some shopping at the Victoria Secret. We arrived home the next day with the belly of the Vespa stuffed full of new bras.

Overall, it was a lovely trip. Next time however, I hope the weather cooperates better. Enjoy my video…
